How to learn Hakka e-learning center course

1. Please confirm the basic requirements for software and hardware for online learning in Hakka e-learning center College:
(1) CPU: Intel Pentium 4 or later or 1.0GHz or above of the equivalent
(2) Memory: 512MB or above
(3) Periphery media device: Sound card, speaker (or earphone)
(4) Network bandwidth: 2M/512K or above

2.Recommended relevant software settings:
(1) Screen resolution: 1024 x 768 or above
(2) Browser: Microsoft IE 8.0; select Tools --> Compatibility View Settings--> Add Website (hakka,gov.tw), and then you can successfully browse online courses.
(3) Install Flash Player 9.0 or later

3. Important:
(1) You may fail to read courses successfully by using Mac, WinNT, WinMe and Firefox.
(2) MSN toolbar, Google toolbar, Yahoo Campanion, WinXPsp2 pop-up blocking function and other toolbar software set in IE may mistakenly regard course window as advertisement and intercept it. Before attending class, make sure the above-mentioned tool pop-up blocking functions have been closed.

When learning digital courses, when does the system automatically log out?

(1) Online courses use video and audio as the transmission media, so they need a wider bandwidth. It is recommended that the broadband network should be used, or you should read in an off-peak period so that it can bring you smoother viewing effect!

(2) It is suggested that you should close windows and applications not related to the course before beginning class in order to read the course smoothly.

(3) Please set volume and confirm the speaker has been turned on.

(4) In order to let the system record your study records, don't forget to log out before exiting the website.

(5) When members start a online study, one course should be read each time. If the online course detects that the mouse do not move in 30 minutes, the system will pop up a "digital learning online confirmation window ". If learners fail to click the "Confirm" in 60 seconds, the system will pop up a "digital learning online time termination window", and the selected digital course will automatically stop and the accumulated hours for digital course will be terminated.

Why I can’t take online course?

First, please check if your software and hardware satisfy the following requirements for browsing the online courses available on Hakka elearning Center:

(1) CPU: Intel Pentium 4 (or higher) or its equivalent of at least 1.0 GHz

(3) Computer media equipment: sound card, speakers(or headphones)

(4) Network bandwidth: at least 2M/512k

(2) Browser: preferable choice: Microsoft IE 9.0. Please choose “Compatibility View Settings” in the IE Tool Options. Add our website (hakka.gov.tw) to browse online courses.

(3) Install Flash Player 9.0 or higher version.

3 Use “Detect System ” to check functions in operating environment.

4 Notices: (1) You may not be able to browse our online courses if you are using Mac, WinNT, WinMe and Firefox.

(2) The pop-up blocker of MSN Toolbar, Google Toolbar, Yahoo Companion, WinXpsp2 and the toolbar attached to IE may misjudges our online course as ads and block us.

Kindly make sure the above blockers are turned off before browsing our courses.

Step2: Click on “Edit Personal Info” and you may start editing. After you are done, press “Editing Confirmed”.

1.Click on “Look up Words / Terms” on the homepage of Hakka elearing Center and you will be linked to the certified database for Hakka words/terms at the Council of Hakka Affairs website.

How do members check their learning records?

How do members check their learning records?

1.Please log in Hakka elearning Center.

2.Click on “Member Service”.

3.Click on “My Learning Records”.

(1)In My learning Records, members will see their personal learning records. Members may also the settings for the following: “Courses”, “Start Dates”, “End Dates”.

(2)“Learning Progress” is divided into “unfinished” and “finished”. The definition of “finished” : the no. of your learning hours are more than the course hours and you have completed “Course Test” and “Course Questionnaire”.

(3)You may click on any courses directly on “My Learning Records” and start learning. You may also complete the online “Take the test”, “Course Questionnaire” and “Popular Course Recommendations”; after you are done with “ Take the Test”, your scores will be shown on the screen; when you are done with “ Course Questionnaire”, the orange pen will disappear.

(4)In “My Learning Records”, the “Hours” column means course hours, the “Learning Hours” column means the total reading hours after members logging in; if public officials or teachers would like to have their learning hours certified, their cumulative learning hours should be more than the course hours and they also need to complete “Take the Test” and “Course Questionnaire” in order to have their learning hours certified.

Step1: Click on “Register to Become a Member” at the center of the homepage.

Step2: A registration form will appear on the screen. Please fill in the necessary info; when you are done, click on “Confirm and Send”.

(1)All member info is confidential and will not be used for other purposes. Please store your account and password safe.

(2)“Member Classifications” include: “regular member” and “public official”. If you are the latter, please choose “public official” when registering in order to upload your learning hours.

(3)“Learning Passport “ : Upload your certified learning hours? If you are a public official, please tick “Yes”.

1. Please go to the “Hakka Certification” on top of the homepage of Hakka elearning Center.

2. If you have not yet downloaded the True Type, the middle part of the below quotation will be blank. (* If words on the right “ “ can’t be shown on the screen, please download the Hakka True Type.)

Hakka True Type (press the right button – Save As…),

click the right button of your mouse → Save As and save the file to your desktop.
